Durham, N. C. Prosecutor Mike Nifong, 2006	Embattled Durham, North Carolina District Attorney Mike Nifong has been voted the Chappaquiddick Society's Profile in Cowardice for 2006.  Nifong easily defeated Senator John Kerry, who received the Society's "Dis-Honorable Mention" for placing second in the balloting.  Kerry was nominated for maligning the character and courage of those American soldiers "stuck in Iraq!"  Many public figures scrutinizing the Duke University "rape" case, including an area Congressman, have publicly expressed their concerns that Nifong's actions in this case are, at best, unethical and unprofessional, and, at worst, criminal. 1996 Profile in Cowardice O. J. Simpson	ALSO NOMINATED FOR THE 2006 PROFILE IN COWARDICE AWARD: O. J. Simpson, the original "Profile in Cowardice" of 1996 was once again nominated after reportedly accepting hundreds of thouands of dollars of what Simpson himself described as "blood money" for his "confession" tome "IF I Did It!"  Simpson is in good company with John Mark Karr, right, a pedophile who shamelessly claimed his '15 minutes of Infamy' by falsely confessing to the murder of 6-year-old beauty pageant contestant JonBenet Ramsey. Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy	At left is Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy, who proved once again that Kennedys and cars are a dangerous mix.  While ordinary Americans would have been arrested for DUI if they crashed their car as Kennedy did, police officers instead drove Kennedy home.  At right is former Congressman Mark Foley, who ended Congressman Barney Frank's 25-year tenure as the "sleaziest member of Congress." James Webb	At left is author and Senator-Elect James Webb, whose public and published hostile remarks towards women is only exceeded by the vile and obscene passages in his novels.  At right is  former Governor and head of the Environmental Protection Agency Christy Whitman, who tried to re-write her troubled reign at EPA by blaming the Giuliani Administration for the health concerns of those who worked at Ground Zero.
